Stopped Hearing from Get Quit

I stopped getting emails from Chantix/Get Quit at about 45 days. I can still log into the site but otherwise nothing. I wrote to them and they told me I would have to contact them at 1-800-TRY-FIRST..............hmmmm, at $135 a month for their meds I would think different (no my insurance doesn't pay a penny of the cost - Humana).

Today seems better but I'm thinking that it's because I'm back on the 2 a day dosage. My gosh, will I ever be able to do without this stuff???
I see my PCP on Monday and I'm going to talk with him - I know in the beginning he said he envisioned me being on this up to a year due to the amount of time I'd been smoking. But on the other hand, I see some of you that HAD been smoking the same amount of time as me(36 years) and you are already weened off the Chantix all together. Anyway, I'm hoping to find a solution to this situation.
I know my husband is hoping I find some peace in something so that he isn't tip toeing around on egg shells. I know this is miserable for him and I appreciate his patience and understanding.

Stay Quit everyone and thank you for all the support that you guys pushed my way when I needed it the most.

MamaFlo- I'm so glad you are having a better day today. I smoked for 17 years, and I probably smoked about 10 - 12 cigarettes a day on average. I know that's a lot less compared to some of my friends. That may be why I had such good success with Chantix - my addiction to nicotine wasn't as strong as someone else's. I'm still sending good thoughts your way!

MamaFlo, glad you are feeling somewhat better today about the whole thing. Odd that the GetQuit emails aren't coming to you - I still get mine, just not as frequently now. At least you can still go on the site each day.

About the time on Chantix, while I smoked 20+ years, that's still not quite close to your 36, and I definitely felt that less than 12 weeks wouldn't be enough time for me. I know that Bay's doctor also prescribed beyond the 12 weeks, so it's not unheard of by any stretch at all. In fact, I've read that 12-24 weeks is pretty common.

As much as we go through similar experiences, I always remember that we are different. First, we are all just different in general because people are different and deal with things differently. Then, there is how long we smoked. Then, how much we smoked at different points. Then, how Chantix reacts in our bodies and what kinds of side effects we do or don't get. My point is just that your quit is your own quit, and how long you and your doctor find it helpful for you to stay on Chantix or not really can't easily be compared to others because there are just so many variables. At some point, you will be both off the Chantix and not smoking and feeling darn wonderful about it all, and all of this will be well worth it, I bet.

Keep going! I'm still cheering for you!!
