About Blogging and wanting a ___________ (can you guess)

I've recently become enthralled with learning all I can about blogging, it's amazing how much goes into being a real blogger.  I'm in my mid 50's and retired so I have a good deal of time on my hands.  I love a good project that I can sink my teeth into.

I've thought about blogging about being a sister (I have 5 brothers and a sister) and the stories.....OMG!!  I thought about trying a dual author blog (my little sister and I) and I've been researching the possible legal ramifications.  I know you can already tell that our sibling relationships have been and are currently explosive.

Doing all this reading and research makes me want to smoke..........the day was gorgeous, highs in the low 80's (yes it's been a frightening weather season) and I wanted to sit outside with my computer and smoke........it's that trigger stuff again.  And oh yes, I also wanted a great pot of coffee to go along with those cigarettes (yeah, the thought, dream really, went from having one cigarette to smoking as many as I wanted) - this is afterall, NOT REALITY, I DID NOT SMOKE.
Instead of smoking those cigarettes, I found myself doing deep breathing exercises and thinking about all the reasons I quit and why I need to stay quit.  I told my honey that if I'd had a cigarette in the house I may have actually smoked it.

So, I want to know if any of you have successfully gone to a casino since you have quit smoking.  I've been in the casino on a cruise ship and successfully kept from smoking and that was for a week but I'm pretty sure that Vegas is an entirely different creature - what do you think?

Good for you hanging tough even when thinking about smoking like that. I've been there. Thankfully it passes. You know me and casinos. It's time for our annual trip to Reno next week, and we decided not to go because I'm just not ready yet. My dear friend J? He was fine in smoky bars from the actual day he quit all the way to now creeping up on almost a year and all the days in between that. Everyone is so different. All that said, there is so very much to do in Vegas that doesn't involve the smoky casino scene.

I'll agree that the area surrounding Vegas (and Reno for that matter) have plenty to see if you want to drive a little bit. We've never gotten into the show scene cause it would make a dent in my slot money - heheeee.
The type of Vegas or Reno trip would depend entirely on who I went with - the trip to Vegas I made with my sister was a smoking fest - all we did was play the slots, lay out at the pool, and smoke. The trips I take with my honey are different because he isn't a gambler at all and prefers people watching. I think I need to stay away from the sister trips for awhile longer - maybe next early summer instead of this one - if you are reading this Jocie, I hope you understand.

Maggie, in wanting to learn more about blogging I have so many questions..........it appears you know a great deal, could you help me?

I don't know about casinos but when I was in Portland I checked out the nightlife and was surprised to discover seemingly everyone smoking. Nothing once comforted me more than a cigarette and a drink. You can't smoke in the bars in Cali so it was a real test of will for me but I did just fine. But then I am really stubborn. Still, I think you would do fine.

BTW - I'm responsible for getting hedge funds transitioned to my companies accounting platform. Right now funds are working feverishly to get tax reporting out for their partners. Big money and serious consequences involved.

Hey there MamaFlo!
I have been exactly where you are! In the middle of a project thinking about how good a cigarette would be! NOT! I tell my brain to "shut up" and I keep working! I am avoiding Vegas while I feel like this. I am going to Rosorito and then will gamble at the Indian Casino for my birthday.
Peace,
Diva

I've had a few moments where I thought that if there was one in the house, I'd for sure go out and smoke it. Lucky for me, my husband is still quit, too. If we can both continue to stay quit, it will double our chance at success.
