TGIF

Good Morning and Happy Friday to Everyone!
As you can see, I'm trying to change my blog some (cause mine is just horribly boring) and so you'll see some changing happening from time to time. I want to teach myself more about setting up a website and blogging (any pointers from those of you that know oh so much more than I do?).

Daughter called this morning, she has the flu and wanted me to bring her some dyquil and nitequil (or however they're spelled) along with assorted throat lozengers, etc, her fever is 102 (she's almost 29 and works in medical equipment sales and no she didn't get a flu shot). Anyway, she has a procedure at the hospital at Noon (and she's going to go) - I tried my best to talk her out of the notion but I didn't succeed and instead, she is going to risk getting more sick and risk exposing everyone else to the flu. When I went to her house I wore a surgical mask as I cannot risk bringing the flu home to my dear husband (we've both had our flu shots) as he is going in for outpatient lung surgery on Wednesday (more about this coming up). When I left her house I used antibacterial spray on my hands and when I got home I scrubbed my hands with antibacterial soap.

My dear husband of 31 years has had one kidney and adrenal gland removed with renal cell carcinoma, he's been on Nexavar (pill form of chemotherapy) for almost 2 years, and recently they found an aggressive tumor on his lung which they are going to use Radiofrequency Ablation to kill off this particular tumor (amazing stuff being done minimally invasive). Obviously I can't risk him being sick.

I'm getting 4 new tires for my car today - Yippeee!! I can think of many things I'd like to spend $500 on and tires isn't anywhere near the top of the list.

Diva - you asked about denim.......I wear Chicos jeans (the stretch is wonderful and I got them on sale before Christmas). I have some nice clothes (dresses and dressy pants) that I take on trips with me but most of that stuff is Chicos too because I love the travelers fabric. Comfort means everything to me. Incidently, I don't think jeans are comfortable at all (especially after wearing stretch waist pants).

I'm still smoke free and hoping all of you are too. Have a wonderful weekend!

Best wishes coming from Peoria to your daughter and husband.

I myself am regretting putting off that flu shot as people around here are starting to get sick. I shall aim my antibaterical purse size spray at anyone who dares to sniffle or cough in my ex-smoker feeling good lung direction.

I will say a prayer for your hubby. Don't you just want to slap your kids lol no matter how old they are! I would have sprayed her with the anti bacterial! "JUst kidding" I have a 26 ,24 ,20, and a 2 year old. the 2 year old is smarter sometimes. Great job on your no smoking days. I wish I could figure out how to link people on here.

I got the flu shot because I really hate getting sick, and it definitely makes its rounds (especially at jobs where there are no sick days - different issue, different day).

My thoughts are with you and your husband. Minimally invasive has been the key phrase in our lives of late with things going on with my dad, and I'm glad that medicine is as advanced as it is.

Mamaflo,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband. I deal with sick kids all the time so I ALWAYS get my flu shot although this year I came down with a virus that actually made the flu look pretty good! Chico has some really cute stuff! A good friend of mine used to be a store manager. I am currently too big for Chico's stuff....they have great accesssories too! I am one size away from being out of Lane Bryant! I need to keep waking! Keep playing with the blog. Its fun if anything else.
Peace,Diva
