13 Things I Never Want To Do

TT13

1. Be Young Again - I don't believe there is any way this would happen even if I wanted it (heheee)

2. Smoke

3. Live without my children or husband or grandchildren

4. Drive a real small car (because I'd be mowed down by all the monstrous large vehicles on the road). I drive a full sized sedan.

5. Have someone make decisions about my life for me. If I'm the one living with the consequences then I'm making the decisions.

6. Live in a big city with all it's crime, traffic, and pollution.

7. Live without a computer or worse yet, live with dial up internet.

8. Be surgically enhanced, I'm okay with what I got at birth.

9. Live on the coast and worry about the devastation of hurricanes. I love the coastline and I love the sea and I think I'd even love living on some islands in the Caribbean but not during hurricane season.

10. Live in a house where 9 people shared 1 bathroom. I grew up in a house where that was the case (and people wonder why my bladder is so strong), hmmmmm.

11. Be a crime victim. The personal violation lasts forever.

12. To get sick or get so old that I depended on my children to do everyday life tasks for me.

13. Be on a sinking cruiseship.

I love this list! Sometimes it's a lot easier to write about the things we want rather than what we don't want but I loved this take instead!

I wouldn't want to live in a house with 9 people and 1 bathroom either! Shudder!

Yah, those all would suck. A lot. I'd go younger only if I knew then what I know now while still without changing experiences that have made me who I am, but I'd definitely be investing even just $10 per week because the magic of compounding interest is amazing. At least I get it now... Great list!

Great TT! I'd be interested to know why you don't want to be young again? I fear loss of youth, so I wonder if I'll feel the same way when I get older.

And there's just no way I could live without a computer, or dial up internet!

Also, I think I'd prefer being on a sinking cruiseship vs. a crashing airplane ...

Brandie, I thought being young was difficult, I worried about everything and would it all work out, would my children be okay, how would we pay for college, weddings, would there be enough to retire someday. I made it through all that stuff and more and did it with flying colors. I love the wisdom I've gained with each passing year and it's trials, tribulations, sadness, and happiness. Each gray hair on my head and line on my face means I've tried and succeeded with something major in my life.
Growing up was difficult for me, so much more difficult than being an adult - I've loved getting older and experiencing life, it's been grand!!!
Life is what you make of it. It's all about the journey.

I think I'd rather die in a plane crash (hopefully it would be a faster death), the thought of being on a sinking cruise ship and having sharks eating me while I die of exposure...........

There's something about this sentence that I love: "I drive a full sized sedan." It's so...forthright. I can relate. My mother used to say with defiance, "I'll never drive one of those poopy little cars!" Although I'm happy to be without a car now (it's easy to get around Paris without a car), I miss my big ol' Chrysler 300 with the Hemi. sigh. :-)

Thanks for finding my blog and stoppin' by to comment! We "mature" ladies need to stick together.

Dial up internet would be then end of me!

I love your list! I wouldn't want to go back to being my younger self, either. I like who and where I am now so much better. I was just telling that to my daughter and her friend tonight - that I wouldn't go back to their age for anything!

Well thank you Mammaflo & Lynda. I really do fear getting older. It's not just something that bothers me a little, it bothers me a lot. So I'm glad to hear your reassurances that you prefer it. That makes me feel sooo much better!

And sinking cruiseship vs. crashing airplane -- there's a good chance you would NOT die on the cruiseship ... they have enough lifeboats for everyone, right? I'm purely thinking of chances of survival when I give my preference :-)
