No Baby Today....or tomorrow

I'm sad to report that the hospital sent my DIL home today, they are busy in L&D and since her delivery is considered elective right now (pre-eclampsia), they cannot keep her and said to return on Sunday to start the ceridil (softening the cervix) and then tomorrow they were suppose to induce, guess this will all start on Sunday - :(

I was thinking this could happen because of the weather front making it's way through Texas right now, we finally got measurable precipitation here and the storm was headed to Houston.  Anyway, am I the only person that knows that babies are born when weather systems are moving through?  My son is an anesthesiologist and made a comment "Oh Mom, I must have been on vacation when they taught that course on Hokus Pokus" - yeah, whatever!!
Some wives tales actually happen.

Anyway, we'll be headed to Houston later this weekend it appears.

As long as the result is a healthy baby, these extra days of waiting (which would be hard!) will all be forgotten. I bet everyone is in baby mode!

All we want is a healthy baby! The only way to "cure" the pre-eclampsia though is to have the baby and we sure don't want Mama going into full fledged eclampsia (I've already raised two youngens and this grand baby is suppose to be for me to spoil rotten and give back):):):).

Best of luck! I'm sure everything will turn out fine. I induced labor on my second child, mainly because they gave me the option to do so and I was impatient. Afterwords I felt a bit cheated, like I disrupted the natural order of things. Everyone is different, though, and when there are medical reasons involved you gotta do what you gotta do!

Where were you at in Missouri? I've lived all over N.E. Missouri in addition to St. Louis.
