6 Month Anniversary QUIT

Cigarette Butts

TODAY is 6 months since I QUIT SMOKING.
HURRAH FOR ME!!
Seriously, this is a major accomplishment in my life........I don't smoke anymore, I'm a non-smoker!!
My life, lungs and even my being are being repaired each moment that I don't smoke.
A fair amount of my success can be directly attributed to the Quit Buddies I met blogging, and of course to my family for believing that I could do this - Thank You!
Another part of my success was Chantix, I don't believe I could have done this without you.

I've never been impressed about the money I've saved in not smoking (819 my banner says but it's probably more than a grand), it's chump change next to the impact of saying I haven't smoked 3811 cigarettes (probably more than 4,000) - OMG! Now that I'm quit, I can't even imagine that I would have smoked 4 Thousand Cigarettes in this 6 months, and that pales in comparison to about 300,000 cigarettes I did smoke in the last 36 years.

I take this quit day by day, week by week, and month by month. I know I'm an addict and that smoking even one cigarette will take me back to my pack a day plus habit.

CONGRATS! I'm so proud of you. I, too, am unimpressed with the amount of money I've saved. My ticker says a whole $176 for 3 months. I know I've spent way more than that "treating" myself for not smoking. But you're right, it's not about the money, it's about the fact that you're a non-smoker.

I'm so proud of you!

Wow, that's really awesome. I remember when you first quit, and I am still inspired by you. It's such a huge, huge thing to quit smoking, and it teaches us a lot about ourselves. I agree that the money isn't the issue so much as the joy of living life without having to stop what we are doing to go injure our bodies. Still, as cigarette prices go up, it amazes me that I found money to smoke, and I'm so glad that whatever I'm spending it on, it's not for something so bad for me. With adorable little Rudy, you have so many great things to look forward to, and he'll never even think of you as having been a smoker. I'm rambling, but I'm just elated for you. Thank you for all the support you have given me, and congrats on 6 months!
