I did it, I bought myself a new iMac. Not the top of the line 24" beauty I thought I wanted but instead a 20" top of the line.
It's gorgeous and I love it! Such a huge difference from my 13" MacBook that was ruining my eyes. My MacBook is 2 years old and will still be used when we travel or when we're enjoying the outdoors.

Very awesome. I went from desk to lap, you went from lap to desk. Either way, we both have new toys. I'm so cut off on any further spending, but it was so worth it. I bet yours will be, too.
Oh another Mac person! I've had Macs since 1988. An old Mac II The iMac are great.
Babs, I love Macs!!! This new iMac is the third one in our house, my husband has an older iMac (along with the MacBook). I spend so much time on the computer that getting an updated unit every few years is still a reasonable entertainment expense.
I think the US is slow in adopting Apple products while Europe has had a strong foothold for some time.
