As many of you know, we bought a new Stearns & Foster Mattress & Box Spring Set (Siena Collection - Orchestra) earlier this week, it was delivered yesterday and last night was our first night to sleep on it.............the jury is still out. The mattress is so lofty that it's more difficult to even get into/out of the bed, it moves around more (the other mattress was so firm that you could never tell when the other person was moving), but I didn't feel the pressure points of my body and that is positive.
Luckily we have a 60 day return/exchange guarantee (if we use this special mattress cover that we had to buy), so should we not get used to this new mattress, we can find another to replace it (definitely a hassle but worth having a guarantee of comfort).
What has been your experience with a new mattress, was it heavenly your first night or did it take a night or two for your body to decide?

Isn't it funny, we both had new mattresses! I added a comment to yours on my post - like you I didn't get the best nights sleep as it felt so hot!
It's far more padded than the old one so kinda kept in the body heat more... Hope I get used to it soon, and you to yours too!
I like a mattress fairly firm ... but not quite the concrete block! lol - I think it takes a while to get used to sleeping well on a new one so I should give it a couple of weeks and then make your mind up. It looks really beautiful so I hope it turns out to be as restful as its appearance.
It took me a couple days to get used to my new mattress - that was about two years ago, and after the "breaking in" I have loved it ever since.
It does take a few days to get it "broke in". My back hurt for a few days when we first got ours, but now I love it.
Congrats on yours!
I'm no expert by any means, but I think of a new mattress as kind of like new shoes and that it can take a few days to adjust. It's good that you can exchange if needed because a bed really is a big deal.
hi Deb - thanks for dropping by my site. What kind of SLR are you looking for, a digital one or a film one? The digitals are more expensive, but with all that can be done with the technology of today, I would recommend them. Plus you save money on all the film and developing of it. Look forward to hearing from you!

When we got ours (few years ago) it took 1 day cause what we went from to our new one, it was like day from night and it was really good. In fact it's help up so far and still is a really good bed...
I bought one (not recently but new enough) that I thought was going to be perfect. First several weeks, worked like a charm. Must just be getting older and picker (or I hurt more LOL!) because ditching this one and trying again is in order :)
Good luck with yours, hope it turns out to be the perfect one!
It's a hassle alright but it's your comfort sleeping is what you need. My husband lied down on the bed to check if it is comfortable or not before we bought our bed because it's high purchase and want to last as long and we want a good sleep in our comfortable bed. Imagine waking up every morning grumpy because your sleep is not good, not a good idea.
I liked our Sleep Number Bed right away, from Night One. But if it was too firm, I could always set it at a softer level. I am a 45 and my husband is a 35. He has played around with his settings at times, but I am completely happy at 45.
Had the exact same experience. In my case, I never did get used to it. It's nearly ten years later, so I can almost justify finding another mattress. One thing I will say - firm is great, but a pillowtop surface negates most of the firmness. And it holds the heat. For someone experiencing hot flashes (and I'm not saying any names here), it's not pretty.
It took us about a week to adjust to our new matress...but now..we love it!!
