Look What I Found In Our Trees

I was outside enjoying the birds earlier only to be fortunate to snap these two photos.  I don't know much about birds but the yellow one looks like a parakeet to me, I guess it got away from it's home/cage.

It's been so terribly dry here in San Antonio, we are more than 10" below our normal precipitation levels so we are out filling water for the birds and other creatures a few times a day and also filling the countless bird feeders we have on our property at least every other day.
They repay us with beautiful song.

Lovely pictures of a lovely bird! I hope he made his way back home!

The top one is a Tufted Titmouse.

Budgies (parakeets) often escape from their cages, and in areas like San Antonio probably can live year-round. There are several small parrot colonies (from escaped birds) in places where you would not expect - San Francisco and Chicago to name two.

Like Titmice and other feeder birds, Budgies are primarily seed eaters, and your new friend may be a regular at your nice feeder.

cheers,
mo

Mamaflo,
I love nature and I love taking photos! I have just posted a new blog and I thought I would ask you what you think about my new colors on black. I figured I would try some new kinder, gentler colors for a change! Let me know what you think.
Peace,
Diva

Hi.

I'm here visiting today because I've received complaints about the bloggers over 50 blog roll having members on the list not having the blog roll or the link to the blog roll's home page on their blog.

If, when a week's time is over, I'll stop by and re-check to see if you've updated your sidebar on your blog, including a link or the blogroll itself.

If it's not visible, I will assume you no longer want to be part of the over 50 bloggers membership and take your blog link off the list.

Sorry, but in all fairness, the instructions do say you must have this included on your blog somewhere for others who are using the list to visit. It should be accessible somehow.

Greta photos!!! we have tufted titmouse birds here this year. They are such friendly little things. And yes, that does look like a parakeet! OMG! If one got loose in Upstate NY, it wouldn't last!

I wish I had my camera the other day. I had these beautiful cardinals in my back yard.

I remember releasing our pet birds when I was a kid. I hope that parakeet can survive a few days

Those are lovely. That second one does look like a parakeet! I hope his owner is not too sad.

Have a wonderful day.

I love my birdies. We have bird feeders in various trees throughout the yard, most so I can see from different windows just so I can admire them eating.

Now to come up with an inventive birdbath for them, huh? lol

RYC: My finished bag will be about 14"wide x 4 1/2"deep x 9 1/2-10"tall...and I haven't decided about the strap yet but since I know me, it will HAVE to be long enough so I can throw it over my shoulder and still carry groceries or the grandboy. lol I'll be sure to post pics when I get done.

The yellow parakeet has stayed around and appears to be cohabiting with the other birds quite well even though it is alone. The birds give you so much joy when you feed and water them, their song is divine. Sat outside this morning having my coffee and felt like I was sitting inside a birdcage.
