MUSIC on a site drives me bananas and for awhile it seemed I had irradiated those blogs from my drop list and then recently I've come upon probably 5 that are playing music. Why do you think that we want to hear music, that we're in an environment that we can listen to music (that all of a sudden starts fucking blaring), or that we like your style of music?
Yeee Gads people - Stop with the Music, Please!!!!!!
Another recent irritation I've found is that EC is showing a drop by someone and when I try to reciprocate, there is no EC card on their site or the "site" that isn't there.
ooooooooh, can you tell I'm in a bitchy mood this morning?

You just named two of my biggest pet peeves about blogs! I detest music that starts up whenever you enter the blog (and there is one that plays the same Tom Jones song over and over...talk about sickening!) Let's not forget the few that have those talking ads, too..."If you want to learn more about marketing your blog, press 2 on your keyboard now" in that LOUD and booming voice! Ugh.
Yea, I woke up bitchy, too.
The music is incredibly annoying. I surf with my speakers on and only put them on if I need them!
I find the ads before you enter the site are annoying as well. I used to have it on mine for a while. When I realised quite how annoying it was, I changed the error of my ways! :D
I have come across loads of sites that don't have widgets recently! I usually go back later just to make sure that they haven't been updating the site.
Oooh Deb! Probably my biggest blogging pet peeve is the music thing!
I actually have stopped visiting one of my life-long friends' blogs because I can't figure out how to stop the music there. Some players you can click to stop, but some just drive me up the wucking fall, if you know what I mean.
I actually have my speakers unplugged from my work computer (I own my own business so it's okay for me to blog between customers, the boss says so *wink*) because of musical blogs!
I love it that you're expressing your bitchiness!
But I do have something that might cheer you up a bit - you were my top Entrecard dropper in May at It's A Blog Eat Blog World, and I have given you some linky love in a post.
Cheers,
mo
oh yeah......and no your not been bitchy.....if so then I'm right there with you sister...If I wanted to listen to the music then I will turn my stero on........and If I go to another site with no card.....I'm gonna scream........LOL
can we say PMS?
The music thing annoys me. Badly. Still, there are some I visit with music because I really do want to visit, but I hate myself for doing it when I forget to turn off the speakers first. I have the same wonderment as I do when people blast stereos at stoplights - why, why, why would you think that everyone else shares your particular taste in music and wants to hear it? On a blog, at least it's at your own place doing your own thing, but it kind of annoys visitors and can totally drive them away.
The music is annoying and it bogs down my computer.
I keep wondering how people can drop a card on my site and yet when I try to reciprocate, they don't have a widget or the site doesn't exist. What's up with that?!
I used to keep sound off. Sometimes the kids have the headphones in. Well I got hit with a few today that had music/ads blaring & it pissed me off! Oh yeah, no EC widget, or ones that are allll the way down on the bottom! Oh, people who specifically ask me to stumble, digg, etc.
I am soooo glad I'm not alone on this!!
Yes, I hate the music too. If I want to hear music I turn on the radio.
I agree with you on those two things. I have started to blog hop with my volume on mute. What really gets me is when I search and search a page and there is no entrecard. This has happened on a few powerdropping sites.
Agree with everything here. I leave a blog instantly if it plays music. It totally irritates me. Why don't they put the 'player' widget on so the choice is the readers to make?
Also the blogs that have no Entrecard widget, and the blogs that don't exist. I wonder how that works.
I just don't know how that works that they can leave a drop but there is nothing on their site......does anyone know the answer to this?
