I'm going to tell y'all something about me that I don't talk about often.
When I was younger, all the way up until the time I met my husband at 21, I thought I would get out of the Army and become a Cloistered Nun.
I was raised strict Roman Catholic, up until I was about 13, I was in church as much as I was out of it. I could recite Mass in Latin and sing hymns in Latin better than I could in English, I prayed many times daily and found myself praying even while I played.
What did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was young, I thought of joining the military, the police at least. just bloghopping! ;o)
LAWYER OR AN ACCOUNTANT. now i know better. lol
When I was about 15 I actually considered joining the military and then I thought about teaching. It wasn't until the summer after I graduated from high school that I figured out what I wanted to do.
I'm really kind of surprised at how many women thought about going into the military.
I Loved It, great experience.
My daughter also went in after college because of an ROTC scholarship.
Wow, that's awesome, Deb! I had no idea. Can I ask if you are still a practicing Catholic? Just me being nosy.
I didn't think I would live past 18, and now if I could pick any job in the whole entire world, I'd pick being a mom, a stay at home mom, and I would take excellent care of the babies and Tom with every ounce of my soul. That really is all I want. Instead, I work in a thankless job, lining someone else's pockets and making their dream come true. Definitely not what I thought I'd be doing, and I do realize that it's up to me to change it. I hope I will. :)
I wish in some ways that I had went the military route...my hat is off to you!
I always thought I would be a writer living in San Fran or Soho or something. Ha!
I did get my MA though, I always wanted to go the higher education route.
A singer.
And then my parents decided that moving to GA was a lot more important than me chasing a dream.
I was like Maggie and never thought I would live past 21. My biggest goal in life was to be a drug dealer...I mean, there is no better job for an addict than working with the merchandise? I quickly decided that I wanted to be in "management" and thought distribution was a much loftier goal. Word to the wise, never get into a business where you spend all your money on the product! Fortunatly, I developed way better career choices when I cleaned up.
Peace,
Diva
I was going to be a zoo vet.
Until I was told I couldn't take advanced science classes because I wasn't good at math.
Then I got into creative writing and wanted to write for soap operas.
I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.
