Birthdays and Feeling Old

Yesterday was my husband's 57th birthday and we celebrated at Pappasitos with Fajitas and Margaritas........this particular one was mine and it was peach but I get these foo-foo ones with salt instead of sugar, just gotta have that salt to take the edge off the tequila and triple sec. The two margaritas and the beef fajitas, rice and beans was muy sabroso.
Happy Birthday Old Man!!!

On a similar note, my husband is not old at 57, not old in comparison to how old my own parents were at 57 - OMG they were old.
What would/does make YOU feel old and do you feel it all the time or only occasionally?

A belated happy birthday to your hubby! Dinner sounds like it was yummy!

I'm going to be 50 in just a little over a month and for the most part I don't feel old until I try to get out of bed in the mornings and my back hurts and I ache all over. Now that makes me feel old!

I think, though, that age is more a matter of how old you think you are and I really don't feel as old as I should be.

I am a bit like your husband. In three month I will be 65. But people think that I am between 50 and 55. And in my head I feel like 35. Which makes that from time to time I have a generation conflict with myself.

Heh. Got a 40th anniversary coming up next year. I do believe that' making me feel old, probably because my wife (three years younger than me) keeps reminding me of how old I'll be.

Going bald doesn't help either. Nor does the fact my hair is turning gray (I blame the kids for that).

Natural State Hawg - I read a fun saying about going bald...

Bald spots are merely the solar panels to power a sex machine!!!

That should make you proud of those balding areas.

They say that the new 60 is 40 and I must admit that we are looking younger with each generation. The only thing that makes me feel old is my joint problems. I have to remind myself that the problems started when I was in my late twenties really, so isn't because of age. I am definitely 35!

Hello,

It's me again. I have introduced you officially on my blog.

Just so everyone knows - Jocelyn is my baby sister (9 years younger - yeah and she thinks that makes her some kinda sex goddess). Anyway, she's always had an affinity to Latin men and those in a military uniform and oh yeah let me add that my sister is way over sexed!!! Settle down guys, she's taken.

My daughter makes me feel old! In the past year she's gone from a youth to a preteen that acts like a teen. In 5 1/2 years she'll be leaving for college. I'll be a total mess!

Got to have sugar around my margarita glass! Margaritas and tacos are my weakness when I go out with the girls.

Tell "Old Man" I said Happy Birthday!

Margarita. Fajita. Margarita. Fajita. Yep, they do sound excellent together for good reason. Glad it was fun!

I feel old sometimes thinking about how old my nephew is or when I see carnival rides that I used to go on but that freak me the hell out now. Otherwise I forget that I'm really not still 25. I'll take it as long as I can keep feeling this way because not everyone does. I hope I'm a young 90 year old someday. ;)

When most of the people from my era are gone it will be time for me to sign out too regardless of how old I feel inside. It would be horrible to live in a world where no one understood where you were coming from (oh my, that happens even now, what does this mean?)!!
There are carnival rides that I used to go on too that you wouldn't find me on these days, my stomach just can't take it anymore.
What I love doing as a 50 something woman is sexually flirt with young men that wait on me, we all get a good laugh (them because they're thinking "old woman, not in a million years", and I'm thinking "you're right, the sex we'd have would kill you") - like I said, we're all laughing and having a good ole time.

Happy birthday to your husband. Margaritas and fajitas sound wonderful. If tequila has the same effect on you two as it does on us, I know what he got for his birthday! ;)

I'm only 43, so I haven't gotten to feeling old yet, but it is getting harder to stay up late - and it seems to be getting later and later with waiting for teenagers to get home...

I feel old only occasionally if my knees get bad or when I get forgetful.

Happy birthday to the hubby, and that looks yummy!

Hehehehe, you are cracking me up with the flirting comment and that the waiter probably wouldn't know what to do with it if he got it. ;)

I may only be 26 but the things I've been through the past few years combined with my dead end job really make me feel old. Sometimes I feel like I'm pushing 50 already. No wife, No kids, No prospects. Combine that with me spending most of my tv time watching food network and HGTV and I'm definitely an old bastard.

lol, well, I might be "only" 33, but I feel old a lot! I've been with my husband for 17 years, just to be able to say that makes me feel old! My oldest is 10 1/2, to be the one with the "older" kids and no babies anymore makes me feel old. My oldest niece got married last year and is 21, that makes me feel old. My body is full of aches and pains and has been for years already, that makes me feel old. The fact that even thinking about having an alcoholic drink makes me want to go have a nap makes me feel old. And the fact that I go to bed at 9:00 most nights makes me feel old! And oh, there is so much more and I'm sure more reasons to "feel old" will keep getting added to it LOL.

oh, and happy birthday to your hubby. And no, he's really not old yet. My father in law is 73, mother in law 70 and they just got back from a tour all around Europe! Now that's old and if they can still do that(and they drive back and forth between Canada and Mexico a couple times a year) then your hubby is definitely not old at 57!

I was introduced to your blog by Peter from Worldman. Glad he did.

I feel old when I garden and the day after I'm all stiff and sore.
