We exchanged our (my) dream bed to a box spring with a lower profile, and a mattress with less loft (can't you hear my sobs) that cost more - go figure!!!
I'll admit that the mattress of the first purchase had a great deal of loft that made the "set" high enough to need to climb in and you couldn't sit on the side of the bed and have your feet touch the ground (yes I'm 5'3" but husband is 5'8" and his didn't touch either). The loft of the mattress cradled my tired aging body but it did take some effort to shift in bed and DH didn't like it one little bit.
The special option we purchased required us to live with our purchase for 60 days before they would exchange the set for something else. Well, I listened to DH bitch and moan for 60+ frigging nights and finally tonight he got his wish.
I'll make the adjustment but it may take a week or so ;)
Sweet Dreams!

We called and requested my dream mattress back, they were able to locate it at the warehouse and will return it to us this Wednesday (I hope it's not dirty or damaged).
I don't mind telling you that I cried last night when I got into bed because it was so uncomfortable, I slept on our bedroom sofa and DH got up and fretted. He was the one that called today and managed to talk them into finding it for us.
I can look forward to a decent nights sleep come Wednesday.

Oh dear! Hope the next bed is a better fit for both you and the Mister!
LoL. Sometimes I think men whine more than women! When we bought our custom made mattress, I had it sent back to tighten up. That was ten years ago and he's still whining about the damn thing.
Men DO whine more than (most) women but they whine differently.......women whine for a short intensive while and men whine drawn out FOREVER!
I hope he gets the best nights sleep he's ever had, I'll just adjust.
I hope this set works better for you both. My mom's been hating her mattress for 3 yrs now, but just lately it seems a little better - she's not sure why.
Since my husband and I switched to a memory foam mattress, we can't stand sleeping on an innerspring! We want to replace the mattress in the camper with a memory foam and trying to sleep at hotels is so hard anymore!
I hope your new mattress is comfortable for you both. There's nothing worse than waking up stiff and sore from a mattress that just doesn't work for your body-type.

I had the same problem with a pillow top mattress so I eliminated the box spring and then I bought a fluffy feather bed thingie to go on top of the regular mattress. The feather bed is wonderful -- soft and comfortable and you can plump it into any shape that feels good for you. It makes up for any lumps or hardness in the mattress underneath.
Well, since you've been falling in love with your hubby all over again, I hope you got to *test* the mattress out but GOOD before you had to return it!
Mo, the bed is hard but so is something else - Yipppeeee!!!!
Seriously, the replacement mattress is less than I wanted but.......I'll give it a break in period before I bitch too loud.
And people wonder why i won't get married.......hahahaha
