I know this sounds like a strange request and you are undoubtedly wondering why I don't just do the research myself BUT this is more difficult than that, I have done research and it's wrong, I want to know from my blogging friends.
The sheets I'm looking for need to be smooth yet crisp and cold to the touch - I don't like to sleep on warm/hot sheets. I know I'm looking for percale but all percales must not be the same because I've bought some that just aren't what I used to buy.
HELP PLEASE!!!

okay i can't do cool and crisp, not when i'm naked. i will tell you try organic sheets. that's all i like to sleep on and they feel sooo great. i got mine from target. i love them. king size i think was only 60 bucks. kinda cheap for such a great feel.
The only thing I know is the higher the thread count, the better. Go to Marshalls or Ross or one of those stores and you can sometimes find expensive sheets at not so expensive prices.
I have purchased sheets from Target, but they don't last very long, the elastic in the bottom sheet gives out pretty quickly.
We got our sheets from the Sleep Number shop to go along with our Sleep Number bed. They are incredibly smooth and soft--like a baby's bottom. You can certainly buy these sheets without buying the Sleep Number bed.
Sheet! I can't really help you out with this one except for knowing that a higher thread count equals a smoother sheet. Good luck!
I have the same issue and I have yet to find a percale lately that I like. I have one old set that's getting worn but the new ones that are the same thread count and fabric blend, for some reason aren't crisp enough. I haven't tried the highend brands yet though, I may have to spend a few more dollars that I want to.
DJ - I have the exact same issue, I just can't find percale sheets that are crisp and cold. I've bought high end sheets that disappointed the heck out of us and so I figured I'd turn to my blogging buddies.
I gladly would help, but here in my desert place, we just find simple cloth sheets from Asia. And then it would be a bit far for you to come and get them. And I would not be able to send them to you, we have no post office (or DHL, UPS and Fedex).
over 350 thread count...my aunt says hanging em on the clothes line... ha ha ha I thought that was funny.... Other than that maybe they aren't making cool sheets anymore... dang... you might have to starch em and put ice blocks on before you go to bed. bwahahaahha you would hate my bed since were in Oregon ya know it's flannel baby.
I can't really help with the sheet situation ... they seem to come in all kinds of sizes here in England and many are a tad too small.
Just wanted to thank you with regard to the 'follow me' gadget ... have added thanks and mentioned you in my post. :)
I have a set of around 500-count jacquard sheets that fit the bill. In fact, it's one of the reasons they are my least favorite sheet set! I like my 700-count Pima cotton soft and warm sheets the best.
And no, I don't spend a fortune on sheets! I get mine at the previously named discount stores AND also Tuesday Morning. If you have one near you, check them out.
I buy all our sheets from Lands' End. They have percale, knit, flannel, and all sorts of things; and they're extremely high quality.
If you check their website, there's an overstock section where you can get some great deals.
And the best thing... if you try their sheets and don't like them you can return them at any time. They have an unconditional lifetime guarantee.
I say stay with the higher thread count too.
P.S. I am having a contest on my blog! I hope you come back to enter!

I've had good luck with sheets from Target, but NOT with JC Pennys - I had a set of lovely to look at high-thread count sheets from them that didn't even last a year.
Try going to a department store where they have made-up beds on display, so you can feel the sheets on a mock-up bed. Even if you don't buy from them, you can get an idea of how different ones feel, and take notes.
I recently got some sheets that are cold and crisp as you described from ... I can not think of the same of the place. Restoration something inside the mall. They were on sale, but still cost more than I should ever pay for some sheets.
Restoration Hardware I think it was.
I bought our last set of sheets from Overstock.com. They are 800 thread count Egyptian cotton and are the coolest, softest but still crisp (if that makes a lick of sense) sheets I've ever had! AND they were only $59.00 for my king size bed (regularly over $120.00) with $2.95 shipping. Can't beat that!
*Hugs*
I remember when shopping for sheets was easier than this.
Thanks everyone for your input, guess I'll do shopping for the sheets when we get back from our cruise later next month - I refuse to spend a small fortune on sheets and then not use them for 2.5 weeks.
Yes... skip the Pima for sure.
We have... what is the name of it where it is all the same color but the fabric appears to have stripes? Not damask, is it? At any rate, these are cool and crisp when we get into bed.
(I'm a hot sleeper, too)
I was going to tell you the same thing grits said. Egyptian cotton are the best sheets ever.
My favourite sheets which ARE cool and crisp came from Costco. They were a good by and excellent quality!
My winter sheets are jersey knit. Love them too.
I love our sheets. They are 400-count Egyptian Cotton. I bought them at Kohls.
Have you tried ordering from QVC? My friend buys her sheets from them and she is the pickiest person I know. :) I have slept on the sheets as a guest at her house and they are very comfortable.
