We're headed to VEGAS Baby! In the past, Las Vegas has been one of my favorite destinations for a short trip but that was before I quit smoking 16 months ago. I'm going with my husband and he has never smoked so that will help "some" but that's nothing next to all the smokers I will sit next to at the slot machines and the smell of cigarettes everywhere we will go.
We aren't show people but in warmer weather we are site seeing people, this short, short trip will be strictly for playing the slot machines (husband doesn't gamble either), and eating, a change in scenery kind of trip.
What do you do when you go to Las Vegas?
Do you have a favorite hotel/casino?

We aren't much for casinos at all no matter where they are. Too much cigarette smoke. I even thought that before I quit smoking. We've not been since I quit either and that's been some years back.
I'm with you on the site seeing though. We went to death valley once and it was awesome. We liked it much better than Vegas.
Have a terrific day. :)
Have fun!
I haven't been to Vegas as a non-smoker, but I do know that when you do feel like getting out of the smoky casinos, there are a whole bunch of fun things to do, some of them for free. Just wandering around some of the hotels like the Venetian up where the gondola rides are is a real treat. Have fun!
we walked the strip and didn't gamble not once. party animals. we stayed at the excalibur
I go there somewhat often. To avoid smoke, you may want to check out the Mandalay Bay. They're not the cheapest, and there is smoking in the casino, but the ceiling is so high and the ventilation is so effective there, the smoke isn't so annoying. I generally don't notice it unless I'm right next to someone who's smoking.
I think the picture you posted is from the Paris. I enjoy the food and casino there, but the rooms are pretty meh. And I think the smoke is stronger in that casino than at Mandalay.
In South Africa they are very strict laws and all entertainment from restaurants to casinos have to split smokers from non-smokers. Individuals who are caught smoking in a non-smoking areas like shopping malls and places of employment face heavy fines.
I hit my 200 days as a non-smoker last week after 3 packs a day for 40+ years. Congrats on how well you are doing :)
Enjoy your trip!! Hope you win lots of money on the slots!!
Ya know, I"ve never been to Vegas. I'm not much of a gambler. I do want to go see the dam...
Have fun... win $$$$$s
I used to go every year. I love playing slots and Black Jack. I don't go anymore though, because it got really expensive there (hotel stay, food, souveniers, etc...) My fave hotel is Bellagio :o)
Have fun!
I've never been to Vegas and probably won't ever go either, but it looks like it COULD be fun. Good luck, win more than you spend and stay strong on the cigarette wagon. You can do it!
Sweetie, the last time I was in Vegas, I got married at the Candlelight Wedding Chapel. Stayed at the Riviera. Divorced 4 years later!!!! I loved the shows and one-armed bandits. Have fun.
Have a wonderful time and have a safe trip. I know better but I will say it, don't spend too much, lol!
God bless.

Mama,
I was in Vegas recently and got a killer deal at the Stratosphere. I paid $20.00 plus resort tax which made it about $30.00 per night. (weekdays) With the roomrate, I got free enterance to the Strat tower which has the best view of Vegas! Its definetly worth visiting! The American Legends show was good too. I also like the Venetian Hotel as Maggie stated. They sing to you as you ride through the canals. I had a few instances where a cigarette seemed like a good idea but thought, "Nah...." Also, it is easier to avoid smoking as shopping areas, food places and the view tower I mentioned are all non-smoking now. Even Vegas is regulating a lot of places as non-smoking zones! Of course casinos are still smoking areas but the nicer casinos have non-smoking slot areas. It just keeps getting easier and easier to avoid smoking in all its forms. I ran into more smoking on the east coast during the summer!
Have a fantastic time! I did! '

We usually stay at Circus Circus now because of the kids. They like the midway area and circus acts. I think we might try another kid-friendly hotel next time we are there though; would be nice to have some variety. Have lots of fun on your trip!
