There are so many things I'm interested in pursuing this year and I just don't know where to begin. I never thought of myself as being ADD or if it's even possible for it to develop this late in life but I sure feel like I can't stay with one learning project long enough to complete it before something else takes hold of my spirit to run with.
My husband and I were laughing earlier about it being so tough even now with being retired to find time to do everything that interests us.
I'd really like to spend more time learning about photography, and there are books that are begging me to be read, and I'd really like to go fishing with my siblings, and I'd like to spend more time spiritually, I'd like to travel more, cruise more. I'd like to volunteer and I'd like to spend more time crocheting, then of course there is dealing with downsizing our living - we have way too much stuff even now, and I'd love to spend some time learning more about cooking - sauces, I want to perfect sauces. Then we can't leave out the time I spend on the computer - oh how I love the computer...........where do I start, how do I find the time to do all that I want to do?
This doesn't even account for the many unplanned, unknown issues that will crop up during the year to take my time and effort.
What would you like to do in 2009?

What Will YOU Do in 2009?

I'd like to quit smoking and I know it takes more than just "liking" too. I quit last year==hypnosis worked great--not a single craving. Then my life got crazy and I started up again. Still smoking a few a day and need to get back on the wagon. I like the link you have that shows how many days you've been smokless and how much money you haven't spent on cigarettes.
I do crochet--baby afghans for Project Linus and chemo caps for our local cancer treatment center. I am also involved in cross stitch projects for daughter and grand daughter. Seems with my hands that busy I wouldn't have time to smoke.
Like your site.
Boating and reading go together quite nicely. I love the computer too, but refuse to take the laptop along on our boating trips. I know what I'd be doing most of the day and that isn't boating.
Everything else is pretty much not a priority. I get my chores and my walk in and then I do what I love. I don't see this year changing a bit.
Have a terrific day. :)
I would really like to get more involved in blogging and writing in general. That is top on the list right after finishing that darn Honey Do list my wife keeps making longer, LOL.
I would just like to keep breathing and stay sane!
Spicybugz, I follow you on this 100 percent. But, though retired since 3 month and having a lot of plans, I guess these plans will become reality partially only this year. My former employers will still make me run around, from time to time, this year. And I am looking forward to it.
There is always way too much to do and never enough time! Downsizing is on the agenda for me too - but where to start? The list is long, but staying healthy and happy during these economic times will be a number one priority.
Take care,
Kathy
I would like to get my surgery done and try to live pain free in 2009. And I would love to get a new project so I can go back to making some money, lol!
Since I'm annoyed, nay outraged, at paying $6 a pack, I'll give up my favorite bad habit here pretty soon. Looking forward to going back to work even if it takes away from my reading, cross-stitching and corresponding the old-fashioned way with pen to paper (ran out of clay tablets a while back). Looking forward to spending time staying in touch with old and new friends as well - will make the time for that to happen!
I love a fresh new year, even if I have no idea what I want to do this year. So much is up in the air. Will I move to Japan? Will I find a great job in Tulsa? Will we finally take the next big step? Not sure, but I'm just trying to keep doors open and to get out there and do things as the spirit moves me. So far, so good. Been some places, seen some things and have taken some pictures, too. Wishing you the best in 2009!
Last year I set some goals for myself and I achieved them, so I'm giving myself a mulligan this year. Blogging/writing was one of the goals, so I'm working on content and growing in membership. Good luck in whatever you do! Don't be too hard on yourself or set too many goals--that will only stress you out.
i want to do a lot. 1. lose a few lbs, stick to my schedule, get reacquainted with my guitar, read more and relax.
I think the idea to stay healthy and sane are important and definitely something I forgot to mention.
In this day and age almost anything can happen and so I'm taking life one day at a time mostly.
There are a few things or rather a few areas which I would like to improve on. First of all is to leave a balanced and healthy life with exercise and healthy eating habits.
Secondly, it would be to improve on all aspects of my relationships with my family and friends.
Thirdly, to cultivate myself spiritually and to be a better person.
Last but not least, to find more areas to give and share.
I know, there is just so many things to do and it seems like the time just flies by so fast. I definitely have to get better organized to fit in everything I want to do, that's all there is to it. Also, I have come to the conclusion that everything I want to do isn't going to happen every day or not even every week. I think I'll have to schedule things I want to do in terms of monthly. I really need to sit down AWAY from the computer and just put together some sort of schedule that will include everything I want to do. These things are:
workout 3-4 times a week,
focus more on my husband and spend more time together;
spend some time on My Space and Shelfari discussion groups weekly or every other week;
Keep on blogging every day and make those EC drops;
build relationships with the boys in my Sunday School class;
play with my cats some every day;
watch a movie once a week on TV;
read at least 50 books again this year;
help with sports camp and VBS this summer;
set up at least two book signings to try to sell more books;
play games on pogo.com at least 4 times a week and engage in chat;
participate in chat on the readers & authors site at least once a week and do some entertaining at home at least four times this year.
That's just for starters.
My father-in-law is retired, and he always likes to comment that he doesn't know how he ever manged to get things done while having a job!
My main goal is to continue building my business so my wife can come home and be a full-time mommy by our 10th wedding anniversary.
Hey Mamaflo, I don't know if you remember me, but I used to run mrpappagiorgio.com and am now running thunderinokc.com. Anyway, you had asked once how my quitting smoking was going?
I just wanted to post and let you know I have been smoke free since August 1, 2008!
I'm trying to live a healthier life in 2009. :) Cleanse the body, mind and soul!
I'm sorry, I don't remember but I'm thrilled you have stayed quit. I see your site is about basketball - I'm a Spurs Fan!!
Like so many others, I want to lose weight in 2009. Wanting to do it and doing it, of course, are very different. :(
I'd also like to write more.
I think it is so great that you have not enough time, even though you are retired. You hear about so many retired people having too much free time, I think the opposite problem is awesome (it keeps you young :).
My biggest goal for 2009 is to try to get control of my life. I feel like everything is completely out of control.
I am going to live and thus will continue with the sharing of my artworks online. That can't be named as some great goal, but that's only realistic confession that the disabled can make. This truth sounds like black humor, yet its confession comforts by teaching the humility - all the above heals from the boasting for the achievements of the officially recognized as the dependent for life - that's my greatest achievement : I blog not my sad story but the dreams that vision the light totally everywhere - discover the signs of the dawn even in the darkest places of the soul. Please visit my blogs and see for yourself.

Thank you for your time to read my writings with the Lithuanian-English dictionary in hand.
well lets see I ditched smoking in1994 stop drinking in 1990,cut down on the time I'm spending on the computer this year. so I guess I'm done for the year,I think.
on a ppersonel note I will still be following your blog,after leaving entre card.
There are a billion things to do onl if we have time. My time, generally is divided between sleep and work. The rest, I have to squeeze in my interests such as sports, learnings, blogging, social life and the like. I have no definite plans for 2009 but I just hope I can at least buy and learn that online SAP lesson for Financial Accounting.. I want to be good at it.
Another things to be consistent with my physical activity because I feel that my knees are not as strong as before.. though I am 24, I want to be strong always.
