We've been on a number of cruises and although I've always wanted to see Alaska, we have never gone - probably because I could never find a good cruise rate. All that changed this year and I was able to snag a great cruise deal for an 11 night cruise on Celebrity's Infinity (we were on the Infinity when we cruised to Hawaii in 2007).

We initially booked a Sky Suite at a rate of 50% off last years rate (and got a $300 shipboard credit to boot) and then this past week, prices dropped again and we were able to upgrade to a Celebrity Suite (dropped $1,000 per person for this cabin category). We are still 2 months away from this cruise and we are hopeful that we will see yet another drop in prices.

My brother-in-law and my mother-in-law have taken a cruise much like this a few years ago and had the best time ever.
Now I have something for you. It's rare for me to pass along awards. To be honest I usually am just too far behind or too lazy.

This looks an amazing trip and I should imagine the air must be so pure. I am not sure if it is true but I am led to believe that quite a bit of the glacier snow and ice have melted and that there is more sea and wildlife visible than ever. I hope that you really enjoy this cruise it sounds just wonderful. Remember to take your camera as you might capture sights that have never been seen before. Thank goodness we don't have to worry about reels of film any more ... just memory sticks!
Have a glorious time and remember to suck in all that clean air and know that I for one will be thinking of you whilst you are away.

I am jealous also. Anyone that I know that ever visited Alaska...ended up moving there. It is suppose to have some type of natural
hypnotic air.

No, I haven't been to Alaska and it unlikely I would go there as long as Sarah Palin runs the place.
I tremble just thinking about it now.
But I am sure you will alright. Why not take Rudy with you?
We'd love to take Rudy and his parents with us but they will be in Ixtapa, Mexico vacationing during the same time.
As for Sarah Palin, her governing the state never even entered my mind but dreams of gorgeous landscapes and glaciers did :)
Hi Deb...I have NOT been to Alaska, but my in-laws went and they said that, if possible, try to take the helicopter ride over the glaciers. I guess sometimes it's available and sometimes it's not. I'm not sure why except that maybe the weather or time of year might play a part in it.
Hubby wants to go to Alaska. Me too, but him the most. One of these days. We just don't want to leave our beloved dog while we are gone for so long.

I know you will love this cruise. A few years ago, I did something similar in Norway with the Hurtigrute.
