Some Wildlife We Encountered Along The Way

These are some of the wildlife we encountered. Click on the photos, open them up and take in the detail.

These first two photos are of a sea lion colony in the waters around Juneau, Alaska

This is a real Alaskan Husky :)

The only bear I was able to photograph was this one but alas it was stuffed

Saw plenty of whales but was never able to get a photograph of one breaching. There were dozens we saw with their babies and we were even able to see 2 of the babies interacting. Some photos I got the whales looked colored like sea monsters (this analogy was for the reaction of my sister Jocelyn), I'm supposing it was due to the sun catching them just a certain way.

Of course the Bald Eagle.

This is a raven in Sitka, Alaska and they are huge birds almost the size of the Bald Eagle and revered in the culture.

And now there are butterflies, beautiful delicate butterflies - are they wildlife or just insects?

Love the Photos. Hubby and I really like the Bear one. Your so brave to stand under the paw of one, lol. good thing he was stuffed. Trying to get one to stand still somehow doesn't fit into the Mix,LOL. Would of loved to see the whales. We always get to see the dauphins at Fort Story. They love to play with us. Only whales i have ever seen are at the Parks.

How wonderful. I so want to go someday. Hubby has always wanted to go. We will, but right now we have a dog that needs us more than leaving her behind. Can't do that.

Have a terrific day. Good to have you back. :)

I'm surprised to see butterflies there. Didn't think it was warm enough there for them.

The butterflies were in Victoria and they were in a climate controlled environment.

Glad you had a good trip. Thanks for sharing the Photos. The Raven looks almost like our black bird only a lot larger.
Yes I wondered about the butterflies also. Thanks for the explanation.

Those are wonderful - I especially like the Husky since I was enthralled with the idea of moving to Alaska and mushing when I was a child.

You can't prove they aren't sea monsters can you? I was right. Another reason not to cruise, what if one of those....never mind you just wouldn't understand. :)

I am so jealous...I would love to see whales. I have seen just about evey other kind of water dwelling animal but whales.
Awesome photos....thank you:)

Thats awesome! It looks beautiful! at times the only wildlife we seem to get in Las Vegas are cockroaches and scorpions. Personally I wouldn't mind a variety like that :)

I'm an animal lover and I love them, not most of them.
