Congratulations on sticking with it! 45 minutes is quite a good long walk. I think it's nice your husband went with you. Gerard and I often walk together in nice weather, if I can tear myself away from the computer! We walked on the trail through the woods at the metro park today. It was nice because it was shady.

Honestly, I find it's not the excercise so much that is addictive, it's the feeling (or lack thereof) that one gets from doing it.
It's the closest thing I've felt to high in a long time! lol

So far, one trip to the grocery store (hey, have to break 'em in, right?) and then a mile and a half walk.

You know that I am all about the walking. I started walking where a couple of smoke breaks used to be at work, and I'm still doing it most days. It's such a gentle workout, and it's also fun, especially if you can walk to a store or something so that it also becomes practical and saves gas. Hope you enjoy it!

Thats awesome! I actually feel better lung wise since I started exercising...I am asthmatic and sometimes need to use an inhaler before or doing exercise but I can do WAY more than I ever expected....even with lung issues. I cannot believe that I will be home Sunday! I have been here almost two weeks! Damn!

I am really proud of you for taking the first step. You deserve to be the best you that you can be!

I'm proud that you are taking this first step. To make a long story short, my father in-law a couple years ago had a quad-bypass due to smoking and then had lung problems the day after his open heart surgery. It was not a fun thing to watch, and I hope that no one goes through what he did.. he was 51 at the time.
So glad you stopped smoking and now the walking will help you out!!!!!
