I have the same problem here where I live, they just drive by and throw their damn trash out the window. Everyday I have to clean someones trash out of my yard. Usually fast food bags.

I think there should be really heavy fines for littering, enforced to the max. I also think that juveniles on probation should be made to clean up areas.

A bit late for the party here, but in general I have to agree that these are the tasks for those who are unemployed or on the public dole in some way (and yes, that includes inmates who are being housed and fed on our dime). But Bob does make a good point about those who are on welfare and many of them are unable to get around or have childcare issues.

Still - it makes sense to give back to all of us if we are giving to them. And if I were in that position, I think I'd feel better doing something, rather than doing nothing, if it were possible.

I live near an open field and forest preserves. There is always a ton of trash. Felons clean it up. Every now and then, a bus with a bunch of chained felons pokes at the trash. On one hand, I think it's great. On the other, it makes me nervous having them that close to my house...

I also have a neighbor who picks up trash when he walks his dog.

I agree, they need to create a system where prisoners or something like that clean it up....it's shameful. The only thing I ever throw out my window is a stray hair!

Amen! Exactly. I'm sure there are a ton of reasons that they don't. The welfare crowd will never be out cleaning up the streets unless they are in jail and compelled to do so.

I dislike seeing trash; but in my neck of the woods don't really see much of it. Pretty are pretty green around here, I guess. Though when traveling I do see it. Cities, counties etc, have cut back on maintenance and thus clean up is not high on the list of priorities.

While I don't disagree that people should in some way pay back, I also know it's very difficult for people without transportation, baby sitters, or the financial ability to hire a sitter to be expected to do this. After all, those without cars probably aren't the ones making the mess. It's the employed people with a bad attitude that think others should clean up after them that throw trash out in the first place.

Camera's poster to obtain license numbers to get the offenders might be the solution. They should be fined, and forced to clean it up themselves. Perhaps they wouldn't do it next time round.

I also see lots of groups, church groups, boy scouts, and the like being responsible for a particular section. Thats nice community.

I'm not opposed to inmates doing the clean up, they certainly have a great amount of pay back due the communities. For the crimes they've committed as well as the roof over their heads, the food they eat, and the medical care they get.

It would be a good idea if people receiving public assistance cleaned up our litter on the streets, but unfortunately the only people who receive public assistance are either disabled or single parents with children who are unable to work or can't earn enough to pay for child care while they are working. Why not get the county in mates to do it instead of letting them just sit in jail?

Howdy stranger! That's right I am making my way back!

Wow I am also working on going commercial as well with my photography, and, also headed back to find my easel and start paitning again.

Needless to say I am somewhat overwhelmed but we have to get this done so that Walter can retire.

Oh I have missed you and everyone so much!!
